Wednesday, October 22 – Bicycle Safety at Nightingale Middle School
You are invited to attend a bicycle safety class at Nightingale Middle School. Multicultural Communities for Mobility encourages families and children to attend the two-hour workshop to learn more about road rights, rules to know, and how to handle situations on the streets and on Metro transportation.
The first 15 participants will receive free helmets and a set of bike lights, bike safety material, and snacks.
We encourage participants to bring their own working bicycles. Those who do not have one will be provided a bicycle to borrow on a first come, first served basis.
Please contact Miguel Ramos if you would like to participate: miguel at multicultimobility.org and (626) 375-6799.
Thank you.
Saturday, October 18, 2014 – Walking Tour of Boyle Heights with El Random Hero
Join MCM volunteer and Boyle Heights resident Erick Huerta on a walking tour of Boyle Heights. The tour will feature landmarks along First street such as the Breed Street Shull, Pico-Aliso Housing Projects, various murals, Evergreen Cemetery, and other landmarks that highlight the multiculturalism found in the neighborhood.
The tour will be starting at Self Help Graphics & Art and ending with lunch at El Mercadito. The tour will be approximately 2 miles, so please wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
